Explore the Belvedere complex, a precious example of Baroque architecture with treasured works of art, on this 3-hour walking tour. Originally a summer residence for Prince Eugene of Savoy, the complex was slowly transformed into one of the first public museums, granting the general public the privilege of seeing artistic masterpieces personally collected by the aristocracy.
Your tour will start with a 2-hour exploration of the grounds and palaces. You'll find beautiful gardens of statues inspired by classic characters from mythology and intricate gates. The private apartments of the the prince also exhibit majestic art and the structure itself stands as a cherished symbol of Baroque beauty.
Your guide will also take you some of the highlights of the magnificent art collection. There is David's famous canvas “Napoleon on The Great St. Bernhard Pass” (1801) or Caspar David Friedrich’s atmospheric “Seashore in the Fog”. The art speaks on a variety of levels and demonstrates the prince's own changing tastes in time. The museum also contains works from the Austrian National Gallery, such as masterpieces by Auguste Rodin, Claude Monet, Giuseppe Segantini, and Vincent van Gogh. Your guide will also make sure to show you the acclaimed works of Gustav Klimt, such as “The Kiss” and “Judith.” It is a tour of art and wonder that should not be missed!

Go to the entrance of the ticket office of the Palace. This is not the same entrance to the Palace, but the entrance as soon as you come in to the garden from Prinz Eugen Street on the right hand side.
Your guide can either help you purchase tickets at the beginning of your walk or you can receive a separate e-mail invoice for your group’s tickets so that the guide can prepay for your entrance tickets, allowing you to avoid long lines.
